Travel to Singapore - September 5, 2022

Today we crossed into Singapore. There is an immigraiton building in Malaysia that we had to go through and then another building once we cross the bridge into Singapore. At each of these buildings, we have to get out of the bus and unload all of our belongings. We then go inside and go through customs and get our passport stamped to leave the country. Then we put all of our belongings through the scanner and were then able to load back onto the bus. The traffic crossing the bridge between Singapore and Malaysia was heavy. It took about an hour just to cross the bridge and get into the Singapore immigration building. Once there, the process was very similar but took much longer. The line to get into Singapore was very long. Three members of our group got stuck in a very slow line. The rest of us waited on the bus for over an hour until they were able to make it through.

Once we all made it safely to Singapore, we were able to have free time the rest of the day. Melissa, Fiona, Amber and I went to eat ramen at a very cute restaurant. We were seated on the second story and our view panned across a quaint street painted many different colors. The ramen restaurant had a vegetarian ramen that even came with homemade meat substitute. After we ate ramen and got some ice cream we decided to go get some rest at the hotel. We then decided it would be best to go to Starbucks for the evening to work on our journals. It was really nice to experience a familiar study space even though we were in a different country. The four of us ended up being productive while working at Starbucks.
